How soon should you start shopping for baby clothes? Many parents start shopping as soon as they become aware of the pregnancy. While this is great, and ensures plenty of clothes, it does present problems if you cannot resist the urge to buy gender specific clothes.
The best advice for upcoming parents is stick to the basic and essentials in gender neutral colors. Obviously, pink is a good color to avoid. Many parents are so excited by the idea of a baby that they go rushing around the store buying all of the baby clothes they can get their hands on.
While this can be a fun shopping trip, it should be avoided until the gender of your baby is determined for sure. Instead, while you are fighting the urge to gender shop start picking up some great basics and essentials in gender neutral colors. Items like diapers, socks, t-shirts, onsies, and hats are all needed regardless of gender.
This saves some time and effort later when you do know the gender so you can purchase the additional items you need.
