Baby Clothes that Last
Many wonder exactly what baby clothes they should spend that extra bit of money on. While everyone wants their child to have tons of clothes, it is generally not financially practical to spend several hundred dollars on clothes every few months for growing babies. Yet there are some pieces of clothing that are able to adjust and grow, saving you money.
Adjustable booties are one of the first that pop into mind. These are generally secured with Velcro straps that allow them to be adjusted smaller or larger as your child grows so they fit snuggly and securely. Every baby tends to grow at their own pace, and as such it is often very difficult to find a perfect fitting sock, which is what makes the adjustable booties so desirable to many parents. Plus, while many socks only last 1-2 months or until baby’s foot hits a growth spurt, the adjustable booties can last as long as 6 months making them much more cost effective.
Babies need to be warm while sleeping, and another option for parents to consider when keeping baby warm at night is a sleeping gown. This is typically made from a blanket type material that is very thick and warm. The garment tends to resemble a dress, however the bottom is enclosed, and it closes with either a zipper or snaps to keep baby securely inside. The good things about these is that they tend to give baby plenty of room to grow, while sleepers tend to be very fitting and do not allow much room for growth.
Many parents dislike the idea of putting a boy into a sleeping gown, but there are sleeping gowns that are designed for boys, with cute boyish patterns. Perfect solution for boys and girls, plus helps keep baby plenty warm without using a blanket that baby can become trapped in. Due to the zippers and snaps, they are also easy to remove for quick diaper changes, so nighttime changes are still quick and easy.
Hats and caps are also highly adjustable pieces. These can either be stretched or adjusted as your baby’s head grows so they are always secure, and stay in place without placing too much pressure on baby’s precious head. With many different styles to choose from, there are several options to selecting the perfect hat for your baby. Some styles offer a strap that goes under the chin that is tied; these are also highly adjustable so as your baby grows, the cap still fits.
